Introducing our first collaborative collection with ERL for Fall 2023. Since our founding in 1853, we have called California home while connecting with denim fans across the globe. In 2020, creative Eli Russell Linnetz launched ERL, a Venice-based fashion brand that has quickly made waves by utilizing playful, retro-inspired designs that blend pop art aesthetics with skate & surf culture. With shared roots in the Golden State, Levi’s® and ERL have come together for a new collection that celebrates individualism & self-expression.
Comprised of ten light-wash distressed denim pieces, the collection is an ode to the sun-faded landscapes of California. ERL’s imaginative use of form and texture is blended with iconic Levi’s silhouettes to capture the heritage and modernity of both brands. Photographed by ERL designer Eli Russell Linnetz, the campaign features a range of siblings and best friends, showcasing the free-spirited nature of California’s past and future.
WITH SHARED ROOTS IN THE GOLDEN STATE, LEVI'S AND ERL HAVE COME TOGETHER FOR A NEW COLLECTION THAT CELEBRATES INDIVIDUALISM & SELF-EXPRESSION
The ten-piece collection pays homage to California’s cultural fabric, using light wash distressed denim with sun-fading as a catalyst. The first piece features a Levi’s® original, reimagined through ERL’s bold design lens. The split leg 501® Jean offers a new take on our original icon, with slits cut up the sides of each leg. The Stay Loose Jean offers a more relaxed fit, with a raw waistband, hems, and distressing throughout. The Levi’s® x ERL Shorts look like an oversized board short that has been cut from a pair of overalls, offering a new shape that harkens back to skate culture in Venice Beach; while the Mini Skirt references a cut pair of light washed indigo 5-pocket jeans.
Matching denim tops in a light indigo finish gives the collection a consistency that allows all pieces to be mixed & matched. The Levi’s® x ERL Sherpa Trucker is offered in a slightly cropped, boxier fit; while the Sherpa Duster presents an elongated version of this classic Levi’s® piece. The Denim Top offers a more feminine silhouette with short sleeves & pearl snaps closures, while the Overshirt comes in a relaxed, oversized fit that can be worn with just about anything.
The Levi’s® x ERL collection launches on September 6th, 2023 and will be available for purchase on select Levi’s® Stores (Harbour City).
